They fought each other during the Kurdish civil war. Then allowed them to have bases in Kurdistan. Then when Barzani became close with Erdogan they allowed Turkish attacks on those same bases, and later pushed talks between the two. Think the PUK has had better relations with the PKK over the last couple years.<br /><br />The Kurdish parties each tried to train and create friendly groups amongst Syrian Kurds during the war there, which largely failed.
