Security In Iraq July 1-7, 2024

During the first week of July the Islamic State was once again absent in Iraq while Pro-Iran groups continued their campaign against Israel.

 

There were no incidents by the Islamic State in Iraq from July 1-7. The week before there were no incidents either. This was the 12^th week during the year with no violence by the insurgency. This trend started at the end of last year as IS ceased to be a threat to the country.

 

Iraq’s Islamic Resistance claimed two attacks upon Israel during the week. There was a drone and a missile attack. The latter was said to be in conjunction with the Houthis. The Resistance started talking about joint operations with the Yemenis in June.
