Al Hurra reported on Iran’s involvement in the violence going on in Iraq. On March 1 an Asaib Ahl Al-Haq headquarters in Diyala was hit that allegedly killed an Iranian Advisor. On March 17 a house in the Jadriya neighborhood of Baghdad was struck that killed six members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard (IRGC). Al Hurra stated that they are involved in helping the Resistance carry out attacks. Quds Force commander General Esmail Qaani gave the Resistance the initiative to plan their own operations. The IRGC forces are there simply to assist them to make sure the attacks are successful.
A leading member of the Resistance Kataib Hezbollah announced that it would stop attacks upon the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad for five days. That was contingent upon Israel stopping attacks upon southern Beirut where Hezbollah is based and a halt to strikes in Iraq. KH recently lost its spokesman and its secretary general is either dead or wounded from two recent strikes. This appears to be a face saving act to explain if the group goes silent for a bit and reorganizes.
Sayid al-Shuhada on the other hand told Rudaw that they would continue to target the United States in Iraq. It said that the Americans were in Kurdistan committing crimes and needed to be punished. They claimed Kurdish bases were being used for military operations. Despite that there were no reported operations by the Resistance on March 19.
The U.S. and Israel on the other hand were busy throughout the day. The Shabak 30th Hashd Brigade was hit in the Bartella district of the Ninewa plains killing one and wounding three. Jund al-Imam’s 6th Hashd Brigade was targeted in Baiji, Salahaddin injuring three. The group was bombed at night as well. Kataib al-Tayar al-Risali’s 31st Hashd Brigade suffered one dead and several injured near the Siniya airport in Salahaddin. The headquarters of the Turkmen 63rd Hashd Brigade faced an airstrike in the Tuz Kharmato district in eastern Salahaddin. Warplanes went after Harakat al-Nujaba’s 12th Hashd Brigade in Tarmiya in northern Baghdad. Finally, the Hashd Ninewa Operations Command was hit north of Mosul.
