Security In Iraq Jun 15-21, 2024

There were just two security incidents reported in Iraq from June 15-21.

 

During a security sweep in the Tarmiya district of northern Baghdad province a bomb in a booby trapped house went off leaving 1 Hashd al-Shaabi dead. The last time there was an incident in Baghdad was back at the start of March. This was also the first act by the Islamic State in a month as the group has largely disappeared from the country.

 

On June 15 Iraq’s Islamic Resistance claimed a cruise missile strike upon Israel. This was the seventh such incident this month.
