"1979 army killed scores and arrested 3,000 protesting house arrest of Ayatollah Sadiq

al-Sadr" . I think it was Mohammad Baqir Al-Sader, who was detained at that time.

Checked my notes. All my sources say it was Baqir al-Sadr.

"Checked my notes. All my sources say it was Baqir al-Sadr."
Yes, you are right, Baqir Al-sader not Sadiq Al-sader . and that is what I am saying .
Baqir Al-Sader was the leader of DAWA movement or party and he was arrested in 1979-1980 and then sentenced to death. While Sadiq Al-sader was came into prominence in 1990s and was killed I think in 1999.
So It should be "1979 army killed scores and arrested 3,000 protesting house arrest of Ayatollah BAQIR al-Sadr"

By the way I read your Blog almost daily. You have tremendous knowledge about recent Iraq history. I learned a lot from you. Thank you.
