            new Qasim govt
1980 Iraqi army surrounded Khorramshahr, Iran and street fighting began
1986 Heavy Iraq air strikes on Kharg Island Iran oil terminal
1994 Iraq puts troops on Kuwait border & threatened to stop working with UN
            weapons inspectors
1997 inspectors told UN that progress made on Iraq’s missile and chemical programs
            but still missing info
1997 IAEA provided last report on inspections Said if any info was left was a political
            decision
2002 Bush said Iraq could have a nuclear weapon in a year if got enriched uranium
2002 Dep Nat Sec Adv Hadley asked CIA Dir Tenet if story of Iraq trying to buy
            uranium from Niger could be put back in Bush speech Tenet said no
2003 1st battalion of Mahdi Army graduated in Basra
