Iraq Wins Gold & Silver At 2016 Rio Paralympics

Iraq has won 2 gold medals and 3 silvers at the 2016 Rio Paralympic games. Iraq sent 14 athletes to the games competing in 8 different sports. On September 16 Garrah Tnaiash won gold in the men’s shot put. He joined Kovan Abdul Raheem who won gold in men’s javelin throw, Wildan Nukhailawi who won silver in the same event, Rasool Mohsin who won silver in men’s powerlifting, and Ammar Ali who won silver at men’s wheelchair fencing. Iraq has competed at the games since 1992 and won 8 medals. 2016 might be its best year so far.
