The pro-Iran Resistance upped the anti once again in Iraq by attacking the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad. Two drones were shot down by the air defenses at the facility. This is the first such attack in ten days.
Just the day before Kataib Hezbollah said it was not going to attack the embassy for the next five days. This was the third time it had made this announcement. This was a fig leaf to Prime Minister Mohammed Sudani to claim that it was following the government’s demands to stop attacks upon foreign targets. Now that it has gone back on its promise it gives another black eye to Baghdad because it cannot control armed groups which are nominally under its authority.
The Resistance carried out other operations that day. There were three waves of drones sent against Baghdad airport. The airport is used by the Americans and has been a traditional target of the factions.
A former United Nations headquarters in Sulaymaniya Cit was targeted with a drone. The Kurds are considered America’s closest allies within Iraq which is the reason why the Resistance has attacked them almost every day since the start of the war.
A drone was downed over the Balad air base in Salahaddin. Therea re now international troops at this base so this is the Resistance making direct threats upon the Iraqi Security Forces.
Overall, the Resistance claimed 21 attacks on March 29.
There were four airstrikes by the U.S. and Israel. Sayid al-Shuhada’s 14th Hashd Brigade was hit three times in Ninewa. Another Hashd unit in Tuz Kharmato in eastern Salahaddin was also struck.
The Defense Ministry announced that its forces found a truck with Katyusha rockets in Kirkuk before they were used. It said this was part of the government’s attempt to stop the Resistance from carrying out operations. This effort has been completely ineffective as shown by the number of assaults that are carried out each day by the factions.
